How is our client Etria Manufacturing adapting its production methods and planning to reduce its energy costs by 4 million euros in 2023?
Analyzing and running production simulations across different time slots and simultaneous lines, as well as reviewing historical data, are examples of actions that Etria Manufacturing (formerly Toshiba) implemented at the end of 2022 with the help of MyDametis to mitigate the impact of energy costs.
MyDametis, a Decision Support Tool
Mohamed Mebtoul, Director of the Toner Department at Etria Manufacturing France, explains the importance of such a tool for decision-making: “MyDametis has allowed us to understand precisely how much we consume per kWh in relation to our production, as well as how we consume when we are idle.” We can also simulate kWh distribution on production lines and know when it is best to operate our processes.”
This reflective work is essential for opting for effective solutions.
“MyDametis has allowed us to understand down to the kWh how much we consume compared to our production, or even how we consume when we are idle.”
MyDametis, a Tool to Identify Energy-Intensive Areas
“76% of LEDs have already been installed. The software estimates savings at around €100,000 per year.”
Another important observation identified with the MyDametis energy management platform is the proportion represented by lighting: 70% of the total consumption of one of their buildings. A simulation was conducted and estimated a 30% reduction if the entire building is illuminated with LEDs.
Mr. Mebtoul adds, “After analysis by Dametis, it was more than convincing to replace our energetically obsolete system with LEDs; we did everything ourselves, and in a month, 76% of the LEDs have already been installed. The software estimates savings at around €100,000 per year.”
MyDametis also highlighted actions that, when combined, represent a 15% reduction in consumption. Among these: regulating air leaks, readjusting compressors, turning off idle equipment.
Dametis Expertise, to Support Energy Sobriety Plans
Additionally, Dametis experts have supported a sobriety plan with “common” actions for all employees of the company: opting for nighttime equipment charging, running the water heater during off-peak hours, updating signage to raise awareness about turning off lights, shutting down computers instead of leaving them in standby mode, and many more.
“In the long term, we would like to continue improving our Fatal Energy Project started in 2021 to reduce our heating gas consumption and achieve -80% by 2023.”
